The first sentence had a parenthetical comment at the end that was so essential that the sentence would be grossly false without it, and was complicated by combining disparate ideas into one sentence. The second sentence seemed to imply that the term z-score is used ONLY when funnel plots used in meta-analyses are done, and that implication is bizarre.
