[edit]A costume helps to set up a performers stage persona, the clothing you where will depend on the audience and your stage set. A dark costume against a dark back drop makes the performers body disappear to the viewers, there for color is important. Your costume should feel good, giving you a little more confidence before you step out on stage. No matter what the costume it should be a good representation of personality.
