[edit]The lack of cited sources on this article is digraceful. I propose a total rewrite. 129.67.98.79 (talk) 17:48, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Notable Alumni?
[edit]The notable alumni list cites some superfluous ex Bonaventurians, who, I am sure, have added themselves. Does wikipedia have criteria on which to judge 'notable'? If it does I suggest that these criteria are examined, and applied to this section of the article.
At first glance I would suggest removing all the names on the notable alumni list, with, of course, the exception of Jermain Defoe, William Sharp and Lewis Iwu.
Then again I might be wrong.

I've certainly seen these chaps on the TV so i thinik you may be wrong —Preceding unsigned comment added by 163.1.62.82 (talk) 15:25, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
Of course you've seen Will Sharp, Lewis Iwu and (to a lesser extent) Defoe, on TV. They're fairly famous. But who these other chumps? David Amess? Isn't he the Tory who raped a badger? 163.1.209.30 (talk) 10:08, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
I think that Vince Hilaire was at St Bonaventure'sMillbanks (talk) 08:46, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
I went to school with Terry Morrison (at St Bonaventure's, coincidentally enough) and I once heard him on the radio late at night, and he's on Friends Reunited. Notable and referenced enough, surely! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.73.147.112 (talk) 19:46, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
That's not a reference you dick. 81.187.113.66 (talk) 13:51, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
- A good rule of thumb is that if someone doesn't have their own article on Wikipedia, then they aren't notable enough to count as a "notable alumnus". And even if they do, then WP:LIST and WP:LISTCRUFT would dictate that you're a bit selective - a lot of people will have heard of Defoe because he's an England international and clearly counts as "notable", but I wouldn't cry too much if Dennis Oli dropped off the list. MPs are certainly notable - and including a politician makes the list a bit more varied. 82.20.52.30 (talk) 12:09, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
Brian Alexis, was indeed the the drummer for 1980's indie band 'The June Brides', he is now a psychology teacher, I know this because he was my psychology teacher for a period of time. At the continual and pestering behest of a classmate, our class was privvy to a recording of a song by 'The June Brides' for which he was the drummer. Of course, whether his position as a drummer for a relatively obscure indie band is sufficient to allow him the title of, 'Notable Alumnus' is questionable - even more so when viewed in conjunction with names like, Jermain Defoe. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.9.244.103 (talk) 23:10, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Stbonsbanner.jpg
[edit]Image:Stbonsbanner.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

NPOV
[edit]This reads in its totality like an advert. Wikipedia isn't a place for advertising... 121.214.105.66 (talk) 11:46, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
- At no point is there any advertising. The aim is to provide as much information to people that are interested in St Bonaventure's School as possible.PaulHalliwell (talk) 20:31, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
I've restored the last revision before the edits of PaulHalliwell (i.e., oldid 430708272). I realize that, while removing promotional content, I also removed and/or reverted constructive edits. However, this article was in this form absolutely unacceptable and I consider this action necessary to protect Wikipedia's integrity. Please read WP:NPOV and WP:NOT for more information. Kind regards, Mathonius (talk) 20:01, 14 September 2011 (UTC)
- Bring up an old topic yes, but there appears to be a rather large conflict of interest in this article @PaulHalliwell: 07Alpha55 (talk) 18:32, 13 April 2018 (UTC)
