"was the name"
[edit]The lead used to read "St. John's Park was the name of a 19th-century park and square..." Another editor removed "the name of", and some other content, and I removed just those words again. I think the past tense is sufficient to indicate that the park and square are gone, and that the surrounding streets are now Tribeca, just like we say "Pompeii was an ancient city..." I don't think it adds anything to point out that it's a name, but I'm happy to discuss further here if desired. pburka (talk) 00:15, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
