"The band just wanted to see if they could get away with singing explicitly about the joys of sex. It was written by Pete Townshend. It was originally intended for a Who television special planned for 1974 where the song was to be performed by The Who accompanied by 100 topless lady accordianists."

Merger proposal
[edit]There is no reason why there needs to be a separate article for Poison's cover of this song. The information needs to be merged into this article. -Xnux the Echidna 23:06, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
sexual innuendo ...
[edit]"...contains sexual innuendo..." Well, um, is somebody going to elaborate ? What, everybody's all embarrassed? We're all prudes? Cripes. I know what it is but this is not written for me it is for the rest of the world. A couple of extra sentences, please ... --Atikokan (talk) 01:19, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

‘International’
[edit]The phrase ‘The song is also their only international number-one hit, reaching No. 1 in Canada[...]’ makes no sense. Why does a no. 1 hit in the US (Happy Jack) not count as international for a UK band, in contrast to a Canadian no. 1? 68.150.205.42 (talk) 23:31, 16 February 2023 (UTC)
