Themes

[edit]

I nuked the Themes section because it wasn't encyclopedic. The following paragraph might have some salvageable information:

Square One episodes often concluded with Mathnet. At the end of the show, the closing music of Mathnet (a parody of Dragnet's theme tune), plays over a graphic on blue backdrop. In earlier seasons, the graphic is a badge from the Los Angeles Police Department and in later seasons it is a badge from the New York Police Department. Under the badge, a byline in italic font reads "to be continued" or, at the end of the week, "to cogitate and solve." In rare cases, the entire closing credits are seen after this, in which a graphic featuring fuzzy patterns, similar to Max Headroom is played to the full Square one theme music. During the end of the closing credits, a female voice often says "100 % of Square One TV is a production of the Children's Television Workshop.", along with the 6 children singing "SQUAAAAAAARE ONE!", following the logo for the show zooming in from the left in a clockwise rotation. --SFT | Talk 19:27, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Note that the above paragraph contains a number of inaccuracies as well. For example, they weren't badges but seals of the departments. --BenFranske 02:22, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Also the entire Square One closing credits aren't rare, they're seen every 5th episode, broadcast on the Friday of a typical weekly run. Wl219 08:27, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, almost every CTW production went through this process. Glickmam 10:07, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

rm cleanup

[edit]

Unless someone has good reason for putting it back, I think the article is acceptable as is and doesn't require any special cleanup.--Will2k 20:29, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Credits

[edit]

I think the credits should be moved to an IMDB article, if it exists. They're not encyclopedic and as they stand take up over half the article. I don't see this being done for any other TV shows... ---Goldrushcavi 17:40, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I agree. It's also unnecessarily redundant, as many of the same people have the same credits for multiple seasons. Perhaps a list of notables who worked on the show would be appropriate? - IstvanWolf 13:49, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Funding

[edit]

I believe that an Intel foundation funded some of the seasons as well, might be mistaken though. --BenFranske 02:22, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Squareone logo.jpg

[edit]

Image:Squareone logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:57, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Jets

[edit]

Shouldn't "The Jets" redirect directly to "jets (rock band)" ? 212.10.52.197 (talk) 12:42, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deletionism

[edit]

Don't understand why a good portion of the material was cut. A list of recurring sketches is a worthwhile thing, and justifies being in a list. Now it's paragraph and lots of info was lost for no particular gain in readability. I came back to the page trying to show someone the types of music videos that used to appear and found that section had been entirely removed.

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Square_One_Television&oldid=291601744 was a superior version. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.212.197.213 (talk) 22:05, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
