The programme offers soccer and life skills to boys and girls aged 10-12 years, from previously disadvantaged areas in South Africa. There are 200 boys and girls per region that take part in the programme. The Spur Masidlale Soccer Programme was launched in 2005 as 12 one-day coaching clinics with the key objective to uplift local communities through football. The first pilot league was hosted in Sandton, Johannesburg, in 2009 and was followed by the 2010 league in Soweto, while the one-day concept continued to run across South Africa. The league was expanded to Cape Town in 2011 and rolled out to Durban and Port Elizabeth with events hosted in Umlazi and Motherwell. Due to the large size of Soweto, league events have been targeted at specific regions of which Meadowlands was the first in 2010, followed by Dobsonville in 2011 and Orlando in 2012. The Masidlale programme provides lunch for players during the series as well as Spur branded soccer kit, equipment and trained soccer coaches. A life skills mentorship initiative is attached to the program to empower Spur Masidlale children. An interview and examination session is conducted with the children, after which a full high school bursary is offered through the programme’s association with Sikelela Xabisa organisation. https://www.supersport.com/letsplay/news/news/120309/Spur_Masidlale_Soccer_programme_in_partnership_with_Lets_Play_thrills_youth Other notable events by Spur Steak Ranches: • Springbok Supporters Club Flagbearers (partner) https://www.spur.co.za/events/springbok-supporters-club/ • Spur Iron Kids (title sponsor) http://www.ironkids.co.za/race-info • FNB Run Your City (sponsor) https://www.joburg10k.com/sponsors/ • Cape Town Cycle Tour Juniors (on-going partner) • Telkom 947 Kiddies Ride (official partner) http://www.cyclechallenge.co.za/sponsors • FNB Wines2Whales (sponsor) http://www.cyclechallenge.co.za/sponsors • Spur Montrose Night Challenge (title sponsor) https://www.spur.co.za/events/montrose-night-challenge/ • Western Province Spur Mini Rugby Day (title sponsor) http://wprugby.com/tag/spur-mini-rugby-day/

Fair use rationale for Image:Spur logo.jpg
[edit]Image:Spur logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
