Confusion
I am confused by the nomination for deletion. Can one of the more experienced Wikipedia editors help me to understand how to update the article as necessary? Opal8164 (talk) 18:18, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
Order out of confusion
I have looked into this at User:Opal18164's request and lets see where we are at so we may all understand it.
When considering deleting a page if Speedy deletion does not apply then normally a first Proposed deletion {PROD) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:PROD is applied to a page.
In this case the Article for Deletion (AfD} http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion was attempted to be applied but was not done correctly.
If User:Utopixie had applied this correctly then Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sproxil is where we should be with comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sproxil however in my opinion this has not been properly activated. Admins prefer us to use the PROD procedure before invoking the AFD procedure.
Assuming good faith the reason for deletion is that the Sproxil article appeared to them to be "(Written like an advertisement.)" normally {{advert}} http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Advert on a page denotes this.
I suggest the following:
1. If someone wants to recommend deleting this page they should post here and follow the PROD procedure or speedy deletion criteria first, assuming this has not been done before? in which case they should use the Afd procedure if appropriate.
2. I will remove the notice placed on the front page of this article and place it on the talk page for reference.
3. I will alert the helpdesk to what I have done, if they so wish they may decide that starting the PROD procedure is appropriate if that happens then we follow this procedure since Afd has not been properly applied.
4. In the meantime I suggest any efforts made to make this article more Encyclopaedic and less like an advert would be well spent. The better job you do the more chance of rescuing the page should someone decide to delete it.

Blank Afd notice
This blank Afd notice was applied to the page and I have moved it here off of the article
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/articlename until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article.
Please see my note above as to why I have made this move. User:MikeBeckett Please do say 'Hi!' 20:42, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Remember to declare COI, remember to edit from a NPOV, Edit in whats verifiable and notable and referenced and NO independent research or WP:NOT
Should Trolls attack or assuming good faith a Dodo do dodo and mess up your article wait consider what of the change may be worth salvaging 'Don't Panic' and edit don't revert more than 3 times a day, I suggest less {remove the oxygen the fire dies and the excitement is somewhere else...}use the talk pages ask other reasonable editor for assistance or guidance.
