Hello Redrose64, Mordac, DI2000, Yobot, Gim67gb, Johnpacklambert, and Pointtwo. You will not know who I am, as I have never edited any articles about British train stations before. I am quite new to Wikipedia, and have so far only been editing articles relating to cyclones and train stations in Brisbane, Australia. Anyway, to the point...

There is a train station in the Brisbane network named Springfield, just as there is in Scotland. Currently, the Scottish Springfield Station (this article) is designated as the primary or most notable article of all the other stations named Springfield; however, the article states that only 702 passenger movements were recorded in the 2015-2016 financial year, and only 30 trains serve the station per week. The Springfield Station in Brisbane (just outside Brisbane, really), on the other hand, experiences much greater usage. Each week there are, by my count, 581 services departing the station, and most certainly more than 700 passengers. I can't find the actual passenger numbers, but assuming only 10 people use each service, that is approximately 300,000 per year. What I'm proposing is that the current Springfield railway station be moved to Springfield railway station, Scotland, and the current Springfield railway station, Ipswich (that's the Australian Ipswich, not the English Ipswich) be moved to Springfield railway station. I would put hatnotes on the pages so as to disambiguate them. I am just asking for your permission to do this, as you are the people who have edited this article in the last two years.

Thanks very much in anticipation for your advice. You might even learn something new about some Australian train lines or geography in the process. :) ChocolateTrain (talk) 01:57, 8 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ChocolateTrain: It's Dl2000, not DI2000; Yobot (talk · contribs) is a bot; and your use of |prefix=|p= multiple times seems strange, any given named parameter can be used once only - where did you get that syntax from?
Anyway, see WP:RM for information on how to request this formally - but please note that comma disambiguation is unusual for UK railway stations, where the disambiguator is almost always parenthesised, as in Springfield (Scotland) railway station or Springfield railway station (Scotland). --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 10:37, 8 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
