Love Boat Scandal

I'm going to remove the section about the cruise. It's not even mentioned on the Minnesota Vikings page anymore, and seemed out of place here anyway.

I think sticking to generic team information is more appropriate for this type of page.

Fine with me. I am going to add a little bit of it back because I want a current event about each team in the article. The majority of the info will be about the recent changes in the team's staff and players. Eventualy I will add ALOT more to this, but when I was asked to help out with the Minnesota article, I wrote this and then to keep the info poportionate to the info for other topics, moved the info to this page. I think that this should be added back into the article, its a huge part of MN sports history and if surrounded by the right information it could fit into the article well. --KingOfTheNorth1

After thinking about adding this section back into the article I believe it should be left out as it doesn't seem to have a place in the article anymore, it would seem strange to place just this peice of information into the article without having other scandals as well. --KingOfTheNorth1

College Section

I've gone through and put a lot of work on the college section. I've added a bunch of references. It doesn't look like a lot had happened with in a long while, so I hope that info helps. Additionally, I know I linked the same page a few times. I'm not sure how to work it so that items get reference links, but don't repeat. Ok, so I've added 23 references, sourcing the info in this article. As such, I've removed the lacking reference tag. There are a couple things missing (I couldn't find history on the Vixen, and the History page for the Vikings is under construction). --Colslax 12:23, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Town Ball

I'm not sure how unique this is to Minnesota, but here is a great article from a few years ago on small town Minnesota baseball. "State of Hockey"

A recent addition to this site says the following:

On January 20, 2007 Minnesota officially became the state of hockey. January 20 will also be celebrated as hockey day in Minnesota.

The governor did declare Jan 20, 2007 to be "hockey day"; his proclamation did have as a Whereas clause that "Minnesota is the State of Hockey".[1] Therefore the statement has support. Nevertheless I deleted it, as the date has now passed, such proclamations are routine, and it seems to be too transitory an item to be part of a permanent encyclopedia. Also, the phrase State of Hockey is both a marketing slogan and trademark for the Wild, which is why it is not used as a slogan for the state in the Minnesota article, per this discussion: Talk:Minnesota/Archive 5#State_of_hockey. The spam police probably would not like this section. Its present contents invite every team to post its link there, leading to the dreaded "linkfarm". As these teams are already wikilinked within the text of this article to their own Wikipedia articles, which in turn have links to the official team websites, would anyone object if we just lost this section? Eddie Griffin in Wolves Photo Caption

I edited this before but another user reverted it on the basis Griffin does not play for the Timberwolves anymore. I believe my edit should stand as Griffin was a member of the team when the photo was taken.

Minnesota Sports Curse

It can also be considered adding this fact to the article. Since the Twins won the World Series in 1991, no pro sports team in Minnesota from the four pro sports leagues (NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL) has won a championship or ever been to a championship. I've done some searching on the internet and found some interesting facts to add on to this. I just go to bing and search "minnesota sports curse" and found an article from the site wikibin.
