[edit]Please do not delete this article again. It is the main article for the category. It is not 'category redundancy'. There are lots Sport in Foo pages, no reason to delete this one.GordyB 20:49, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
POV regarding petanque
[edit]Not everybody regards this as a sport. That is noted. Calling it a "sport" is point of view. Please read Wikipedia:Neutral point of view.GordyB 15:19, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
- Pétanque is a sport!! Pétanque is member of the CMSB, international federation recognize by the IOC. CMSB website ARISF website. Excuse my very poor English. 84.103.176.82 18:05, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
to criticize a old vision of France.
[edit]I am very surprised to not seean old french champ Dida dilldley Diaffat, or Jerome Lebanner on your site. Often anglosexon people want to conserve them own vision about France, a vision white mommmas, a vision volontarly old and unmodern. people in France eatcrap from animals because it does'nt smell good{all ready processsed}, there is "berret" only for american tourists. French dont consider petanque as a sport but as a game, and its above all for old people. We have lot of champ in handball, judo, kickboxing. That's the France to. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.116.86.107 (talk) 18:16, 16 February 2007 (UTC).
- I do not know who these people are, I do not know anything about handball. If you don't feel that the article in its present state represents France then use the edit button.GordyB 20:31, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
If you don't see any béret in France, you probably don't look a lot around you... and the old generations are far from being the only ones represented... Same for Pétanque... Anyway, I made two little modifications :
- Pétanque is known in the northern part of the country, even if less played.
- I put the translation of "parkout"
Always about pétanque, i'm quite surprised of the number of players : 17 Millions ? It'd mean that 1/4 of French people often plays pétanque ? It's maybe a bit too much, but anyway, maybe true... I'm from the North, so my vision may be mistaken.
(sorry for my poor English...)
Motorsport?
[edit]I'm surprised by the lack of any mention of motorsports in this article, especially when table football is apparently worth mentioning. 24 Hours of Le Mans, French Grand Prix, Grand Prix de Pau, Tour de France automobile, Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours, Dijon-Prenois, Circuit Paul Ricard, Charade Circuit, Rouen-Les-Essarts, Reims-Gueux, Autodrome de Linas-Montlhéry, Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile, anyone...? - The article is the way it is because I created it out of information that was already on Wikipedia as I don't know anything about French sport (other than rugby). As somebody bothered to write about table football, it is included. If you want to create a motor sport section then please do so but I don't know anything about motor sport and won't be doing so.GordyB 23:05, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
Cycling?
[edit]The cycling section is inaccurate despite it being one of the country's biggest and most loved sports.
- Well change it then.GordyB 17:11, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
