The result of the move request was: There is clear consensus that the card game is not primary so I have moved that to Spoons (card game) accordingly. What happens to the page Spoons is much harder to call. There is not sufficient support in this discussion to redirect it to the utensil, so I have redirected it to the disambiguation page for now. Unless there is any follow-up discussion I will move the dab page to Spoons later. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 21:51, 9 May 2019 (UTC)
– WP:ASTONISH I can't see how the game is clearly primary for titles with the plural, never mind taking into account article titles that are at the singular [[1]]. A Google image search for "spoons" only seems to return the utensil. I would also note that Category:Spoons and Commons:Category:Spoons are also about the utensil. In terms of PT#2 I'm pretty sure that the utensil would be the clear winner for that. Although unlike Shoes and Twins the utensil doesn't commonly come in the plural form, people will often have multiple spoons in a cupboard. Thus like Hearts (see Talk:Hearts) and Spades (see Talk:Spades#Requested move 28 April 2019) I propose that there is no primary topic for the plural but the primary topic for the singular should remain the utensil. - Support move - The card game is named for the eating utensil, which establishes that the card game cannot be primary for long-term significance. Redirect to spoon per WP:RPURPOSE: Plurals. -- Netoholic @ 02:28, 3 May 2019 (UTC)
- That is a terrible reason for support - see Boston Red Slash 20:24, 7 May 2019 (UTC)
- As with Hearts I still don't think the utensil is primary and per User:Andrewa/Incoming links. Crouch, Swale (talk) 20:24, 8 May 2019 (UTC)
- That is a terrible reason for support - see Boston Red Slash 20:24, 7 May 2019 (UTC)
- Support per the utensil as primary, and per nomination and Netoholic. Randy Kryn (talk) 11:13, 3 May 2019 (UTC)
- Strongly support per nom. Move disambiguation page to basename (not the utensil). Paintspot Infez (talk) 12:56, 3 May 2019 (UTC)
- Reluctant support because of a vast slew of other, reasonably notable things with the exact same name Red Slash 20:24, 7 May 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose move as proposed above, but agree this needs sorting out. Spoons should redirect to Spoon as the primary topic. The card game, Spoons, is nothing but a variant of the much better known Donkey or Pig, with the added feature of spoons and the single source is from an internet craft site that is, frankly, unreliable as regards card games. So I'd move the card game to Donkey (card game), since that is the main name used by David Parlett, and rewrite the article to describe the basic game of Donkey using at least 2 book sources and add Spoons (which Parlett doesn't even mention) as its variant. I'm willing to do that and it would get rid of the problem. Bermicourt (talk) 20:40, 9 May 2019 (UTC)
