Opinion or fact?
[edit]I hadn't noticed half of the "controversial" issues pointed out in this article, and some don't even make sense, this article is mostly opinion to me and should be cleaned up or something. I've watched the show a lot and have only seen SpongeBob (or anyone) acting/speaking/etc. "controversially" only a few times. I really don't see why people think he is a homosexual, I mean, this is all for fun, isn't it? It's a kids show for gooness sake. (please correct me on anything I did wrong, I'm new here) - Biomech 00:27, 13 September 2006 (UTC).
I agree with Biomech, people are just making a big deal of it. It's sad we live in a society like this who thinks everything has controversy.--User:Aved 03:44, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
Doens't make sense
[edit]- "This episode was never aired in Japan, Poland, Romania and Italy, because it was thought to show a homosexual-like couple, although this episode has been distributed in those countries via pirated DVDs."
Poland, Romania and Italy I understand, but Japan?
Japanese TV frequently shows close male-male/female-female relationships in cartoons for kids. I find it strange that Japan would ban this episode because it could be 'interprited' as homosexuality when there are characters on TV who are openly and unashamadly and openly homosexual.
Dude I never saw an anime like that
I know the real reason it was never shown in poland. It's because when they saw spongebob, they thought "his pants arn't square" and scratched their head until it was bloody. Just joking, I'm polish myself.
Not written in a nuetral point of view
[edit]This is obviously written by someone who thinks Spongebob is Gay.

- Well, that's part of the controversy. It does look a little uneven, though. Slicedoranges 08:37, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
The Valentines Day Card
[edit]Should the infamous "black face" Spongebob Valentine's Day card be mentioned on this page? I would put it on the page, but I can't find a reliable source.~Lord Lonic

WHAT EPISODE
[edit]In one EPISODE?, Mr. Krabs attempted to trick SpongeBob into giving him an expensive novelty hat, saying that it made him look like a girl. "Am I a pretty girl?" SpongeBob asks. Mr. Krabs hesitantly replies, "Well, yes, you're beautiful." A male bystander looks on in disgust. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.195.132.253 (talk) 05:53, 27 December 2006 (UTC).

Related innuendo section should be deleted
[edit]This article is for writing about the controversy that surrounds the SpongeBob series. Has anything in the "Related innuendo" section actually stirred up controversy? If not, then the section should be deleted, as it is irrelevant. If a couple of the facts have, then they can be incorporated into the rest of the article. The main controversy surrounding SpongeBob is his alleged homosexual behavior, and therefore should make up the majority of the article. --DarkAdonis255 14:40, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- I agree. The entire section should be deleted. --AMK152 (Talk • Contributions) 00:53, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
Man Ray Episode
[edit]I am looking at it right now with my nephew, and Spongebob said (referring to Manray) "He said the 'p' word!" And, Patrick Says "penis." Then Spongebob said, "No, please." This fact should be on the controversy page as well. Bearly541 22:12, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
- Patrick actually says "Peanuts?" not "Penis" if I'm not mistaken. --DarkAdonis255 21:24, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
- DarkAdonis is right. --AMK152 (Talk • Contributions) 20:24, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
So all of you know, he says "uhh...peanuts." Nothing sexual, so um...yeah.
Molt Cookies on SpongeBob
[edit]There are several molt cookies on SpongeBob, the most notable and obvious one is in "Born Again Krabs" in the scene where Mr. Krabs is deemed a bad sea creature by the Flying Dutchman. I'd like to know if anyone else has noticed the molt cookies on the show, if so, please respond. - What is a molt cookie? Plus, unless these have sparked controversy, it does not relate to this article. --DarkAdonis255 23:58, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
Vandalism?
[edit]where it says that Steven explains that SpongeBob is NOT gay, the line after it says that it has been confirmed that he IS gay71.193.60.25 04:32, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
- What version are you looking at? I see nothing like that. CovenantD 12:40, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
