No mainstream branch of Judaism considers Messianic Jews to be Jewish. Not believing in Jesus Christ as the Messiah is one of the hallmarks of Judaism and Messianic Jewry violates that. Please consult with the following sources which are considered to be the main governing bodies of Judaism in the United States (and most are global): https://www.rabbinicalassembly.org/ (Conservative Judaism) https://urj.org/ (Reform Judaism) https://www.ou.org/ (Orthodox) https://youngisrael.org/ (Orthodox) https://www.reconstructingjudaism.org/ (Reconstructionist) https://agudah.org/ (Haredi Orthodox) The rabbinical courts of Israel also do not consider Messianic Jews to be Jewish.

Thus, Spike Cohen is not Jewish, and is not the first Jewish nominee since Joe Lieberman.

Reliable sources have stated he is Jewish, and he self-identifies as such. Per MOS:IDENTITY it should be included. ― Tartan357 (Talk) 06:25, 10 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
