Citations and updates
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
Following the edits to the article yesterday, I see that editors would like to have more citations to support information in this article and I have found several that can be used:
- The following citation can be added at the end of the first sentence in the paragraph discussing his education and Bank of England roles:
- <ref>{{cite web |url=http://www.exeterchamber.co.uk/spencer-dale-executive-director-and-chief-economist-bank-of-england-chamber-speaks-at-chamber-lunch/news-archive/ |title=Spencer Dale, Executive Director and Chief Economist Bank of England Chamber speaks at Chamber lunch |author= |date= |work=exeterchamber.co.uk |publisher=Exeter Chamber of Commerce and Industry |accessdate=2 October 2015}}</ref>
- This Guardian news article may be added at the end of that paragraph to add support to the primary source for his roles at the Bank of England:
- <ref name="Elliott2014">{{cite news |title=Bank of England former chief economist leaves to join BP |author=Larry Elliott |url=http://www.theguardian.com/business/2014/aug/04/bank-of-england-spencer-dale-bp-mark-carney |work=The Guardian |date=4 August 2014 |accessdate=21 October 2015}}</ref>
- The following news article may be added at the end of the last paragraph, as support for Dale's role in leading the BP economics team, providing economic insights and overseeing the Statistical Review of World Energy and the BP Energy Outlook:
- <ref name="ET2014">{{cite news |title=British Petroleum appoints Spencer Dale as new Group Chief Economist |author= |url=http://articles.economictimes.indiatimes.com/2014-08-04/news/52428382_1_world-bank-bp-energy-outlook-bp-statistical-review |work=Economic Times |date=4 August 2014 |accessdate=21 October 2015}}</ref>
- <ref name="Reuters2014">{{cite news |title=MOVES--BP appoints BoE's Dale as group chief economist |author= |url=http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/08/04/moves-bp-dale-idUSL9N0OJ01Z20140804 |work=Reuters |date=4 August 2014 |accessdate=21 October 2015}}</ref>
Additionally, there are two small updates I would like to request for this article.
- The "Global Energy Outlook" mentioned in the article should be "World Energy Outlook" or simply "Energy Outlook", per the BP website and various news articles
- Currently, the infobox used is an "officeholder" version with no room to add details such as his current role. Is it possible to change this to a standard "person" version, now that Dale is no longer a member of the Monetary Policy Committee
As I am BP's representative on Wikipedia, I will refrain from making edits to this article. Can someone add the above citations and make the other edits if they are ok? Thanks. Arturo at BP (talk) 14:56, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
- I have added the refs you provided and made the requested edits. I have left the office holder infobox alongside the infobox person. If anyone objects, I have no problem with one being removed. Sarahj2107 (talk) 12:06, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you, Sarahj2107. Now that these citations are used in the article, can the tag that says the article relies too much on primary sources be removed? Thanks. Arturo at BP (talk) 21:49, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
- I have removed the tag. Sarahj2107 (talk) 08:23, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
