Heir
[edit]The present HA has two daughters does the 7th Mq's brother have a male heir? Otherwise the HP HP looks like it will soon become James Alwyn Compton (b 1953) who has a son Alci12 22:42, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
Succession
[edit]It says that he was leader of the GLOE until March 2009, does that mean someone succeeded him in April? How come it doesn't list who did, or who he succeeded? Tyciol (talk) 04:33, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
- The new Pro GM is Peter Lowndes... a decidedly non-notable person by Wikipedia's standards. I don't think this should be mentioned... it's irrelevant to the subject of this article. The subject of this article is Spencer Compton. The fact that he is the Marquess of Northampton is what makes him notable. The fact that he was, for a couple of years, the Pro-GM in UGLE is mearly a point of interest (boardering on trivia), mentioned in passing. Who succeeded him in office is not worth mentioning in an article about Compton.
- An annalogy might help... Say Compton was on the Board of Directors of a large company. This fact might be worth mentioning in this article, but we would probably not bother to mention who replaced him on the Board once he retired. Blueboar (talk) 13:06, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
