Cave Surveying

[edit]

I think there needs to be a separate page on cave surveying. There had been one, but it's been redirected to this general page. I'm trying to recruit some cave surveyors to help write some material. No one's even uploaded a cave survey into wikipedia yet. For a journal on cave surveying see Compass Points Goatchurch 23:29, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There's a lot more to be written - first of all it is only one method of survey described here, the tools and the methodology need a lot more detail. I agree that it should be its own article. I dare say there is no survey uploaded because of copyright issues. --5telios 10:27, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There was never a separate page; it's always been a redirect AFAIK. There is a subsection entitled Cave Cartography within this article (Speleology) which deals with cave surveys - hence the redirect(s). Personally I feel it doesn't really need its own article, but if there's more to be said then a separate Cave Survey article will inevitably appear. Ian mckenzie 21:17, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I've just created an article on cave surveying at cave survey, separate from the Speleology article, using the contents of the cave cartography section from this page as the basis. Added more detailed information on the BCRA grades and a section on hydrolevelling amongst other stuff. Fattonyni (talk) 00:08, 2 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
