Scientific name
[edit]I have never found Tarsius tarsier in papers, except for a book by Sharon Gursky where she writes that the correct name should be Tarsius tarsier but T. spectrum is still the one in use. We should probably wait for Groves' paper before using that name, shouldn't we? Prolagus (talk) 19:09, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
- What do you mean by "wait for Groves' paper"? MSW3 was published 3 years ago. Or do you mean the paper he refers to in the comments section for this species in MSW3? That paper will split this whole genus into a total of 3 genera, or so the notes on the genus say. For now, T. tarsier is how it is listed. - UtherSRG (talk) 19:44, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, my fault. Here is the paper I needed: Brandon-Jones et al. (2004) "Asian Primate Classification". International Journal of Primatology 25 (1):97-164. Prolagus (talk) 19:47, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
