Spectral concentration problem finds extensive application in spectral analysis, Geophysics, Cosmology and others. It is one of the well established optimization problem in signal processing. Hence, it's requested not to delete this article. Thanks, Chronuxwiki (talk) 12:04, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
What makes the problem non-trivial?
[edit]This article begins by stating the task of finding the time-sequences with the highest spectral concentration. Aren't they just sinusoids? why is the problem non-trivial?
Maybe the article should set up the problem better. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.101.104.188 (talk) 12:24, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
Problem isn't trivial for discrete Fourier transform, because it implies time-limited signal (sinusoid is not time limited) i.e. signal with finite support. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 149.156.194.160 (talk) 09:19, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
