Converting Disambig page to article

[edit]

I have expanded this former disambig page to a full article. The original disambig was just two pointers to compilation albums, which I have preserved with a hatnote at the beginning of the article. The alternative would have been to create this article at Special Reserve (militia). Although that redirect relates specifically to the subject matter of this article, the title is not as accurate as this one. The Special Reserve was not a militia, and its only connection to the British Militia was the fact that it took over its role when the Militia was abolished in 1908. Special Reserve and New Army

[edit]

In 1914, on the one hand there was a need for soldiers to join the Special Reserve, to feed the regular battalions. On the other, there was the New Armies, and their needs conflicted with those of the Special Reserve.

I do not see a partnership of Special Reserve training the New Armies, as currently stated and unsourced in the article.

There will be examples of experienced personnel transferred from the Special Reserve battalion to newly formed New Army service battalions, but that is different to what the article currently alludes to. Keith H99 (talk) 09:24, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Dubious content deleted. Insert of cite web echoing Simkins, to correct the misinformation. Keith H99 (talk) 11:50, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This POV has no source-based evidence behind it, so will be removed, in order to keep this as a Good Article. Keith H99 (talk) 10:05, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
