There was a brief reintroduction at some point (early 1990s?) - I remember buying them in Woolworths. I can't remember how long they lasted - only a year or two at most, I think; they were just too expensive for a pretty small tube. 217.33.74.20 14:29, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I also remember these in the early-mid 1990s - I only remember ever seeing them in Woolworths too. They were definately still available in 1993, if not 1994 or even later. --Zilog Jones 23:03, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

They were not only available in that brief reintroduction in Woolworths - I remember buying some from a regular little newsagents.91.104.196.148 (talk) 20:55, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's a little misleading to say they were produced 'up until the mid-1990s' in the intro, then, if they'd been gone for years then briefly reappeared. Anyone know when they originally stopped? Sometime in the 80s? BillyH 03:03, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Someone's updated it to say they stopped in the early 80s. Ty. BillyH 17:18, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Does anyone remember the blue ones introduced for a short period, all the same flavour ? Simon GC —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.61.173.254 (talk) 09:55, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The external link, "Spangles soon to be available here", links to a page that tells us this product is discontinued. In its current state the link serves no other purpose as a plug for a site selling other old confectionery, but not this particular item. SideIron (talk) 20:33, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dodgy Pricing

[edit]

The picture of the wrapper from 1974 is interesting as it shows a price of 2p printed on the wrapper but there's a retailer price label showing 2 1/2p. This probably would not be allowed today. Stub Mandrel (talk) 10:58, 17 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

There was massive inflation in double figures around 1974-1981. Retail prices increased frequently. IIRC, it soon became law that, when a product had two prices the retailer was supposed to sell it at the lower price. Retailers were required to remove old price labels before putting new ones on, which meant a huge increase in workload. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 162.196.161.203 (talk) 23:18, 11 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
