Possible Error, Date of Construction
[edit]Most of the information in this article are correct, however the date of construction is questionable. The contract for the orbiter was awarded to Rockwell on the 26th of July, 1972. At that time, the final orbiter design was far from complete. The shuttle design would start to be frozen in late 1973. The first publicity photos of the mockup would start circulating in spring of 1974. It is safe to say that the mockup was under construction between 1972 and spring of 1974, but the design was nowhere near ready in 1972 (Dennis Jenkins, "Space Shuttle - The Development of the National Space Transportation System). --RRLittle (talk) 04:19, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
Two Orbiters with same name?
[edit]I believe the Downey, California Inspiration and the Inspiration on display at the Astronaut Hall of Fame are not the same.
Here is a photo dated May 2012 showing the Inspiration at the Astronaut Hall of Fame in Florida while, according to the article, the Downey Inspiration was put on display after being refurbished in July 2012 on the other side of the country.
Does anybody have any more information about this?

- That's correct, they are two separate objects. I've edited the page to distinguish the Downey vehicle from the HoF vehicle. — Huntster (t @ c) 06:28, 15 April 2014 (UTC)
There was a Reddit post about the HoF mockup being sold and prepared to be a travelling exhibit. Watch out for more erroneous edits. I already reverted one. Davidyorke (talk) 05:15, 6 February 2020 (UTC)
