Who's the director?
[edit]On the one hand, there's "исполняющий обязанности директор киностудии "Союзмультфильм" Акоп Киракосян", and on the other there's "Руководитель государственного "Союзмультфильма" Эрнест Рахимов". Both from this website. And in this interview, Akop is mentioned as director. Who's in charge of what? Esn 12:32, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
- If you look at some of the links that I added, they mention that Soyuzmultfilm is now the name of two companies: one is responsible for making the films, the other for selling and distributing them. Perhaps, then, both of these guys are directors? Only who's the director of what? Esn 02:01, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, this link confirms that Ernest Rakhimov is the director of the film fund; and that consequently, Kirakosyan is the director of the creative portion. Also, per that link, the international rights to most of Soyuzmultfilm's catalogue may soon be sold by Films by Jove to someone in Russia. Esn 14:42, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Bremenskie muzykanty.jpg
[edit]Image:Bremenskie muzykanty.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Number of films produced and in what period
[edit]The top paragraph originally ended with the sentence
- The studio has produced 1530 films during its existence.
First question: as of when?
The source,
- "Russian animation in letters and figures | Studies | SOYUZMULTFILM". Animator.ru. Retrieved 2012-01-14.
has 32 pages; pages 1–31 have 50 entries each, but p.32 has only 13. Most entries consist of a title and a year, like this:
- ╚THE MAGPIES GOSSIP╩ (2007)
but some are "empty", like this:
- ╚╩ (2008)
(The glyphs used as quotation marks are (left) ╚ U+255A BOX DRAWINGS DOUBLE UP AND RIGHT and (right) ╩ U+2569 BOX DRAWINGS DOUBLE UP AND HORIZONTAL.)
The years are in chronological order. "The Magpies Gossip (2007)", line 28 of p.31, is the last line in the file to contain a title. The next line ("╚╩ (2008)") and all the rest of p.31, and all 13 lines on p.32 are "empty", with only a year. Therefore the source lists only films through 2007, although the years on the lines go through 2016.
Second question: how many?
Since only pp.1-30 have a full complement of 50 titles, p.31 has only 28, and p.32 has none, the source includes only
30 * 50 + 28 = 1528
actual entries, not 1563. Pages 1–32 have 50 lines each (with and without titles) and p.33 has only 13 (all without), so there are 31 * 50 + 13 = 1563
lines in all. This must be the source of the number 1563 at the top of p.1 for "All studio films", which is entered as a constant in the HTML, not computed:
All studio films (1563) :
The number 1530 that the article previously quoted was probably based on an editor's miscount of the titles on p.31.
I have added the timespan and corrected the count.
