[edit]The last few lines of the section regarding the mascot are unfounded. As a graduate of Southside High School, I can assure you that I have never heard anyone describe the mascot as un-American. It is simply a mascot, just like any other school has. The author of this section is stating an opinion, which is the opposite to what the purpose of an online encyclopedia is.
I suggest we nominate this article for deletion; does one have to be a registered member to do that? --206.255.185.237 03:12, 22 July 2005 (UTC)
Don't delete it. I will personally edit this article. --BlueGlowGuardian 12:24, 1 September 2005 (UTC)
- You do not need to be registered but it is encouraged that you do so. As far as the page goes, i don't think it needs to be deleted, but it needs to be moved to a page with a new name. Simply having it under "Southside High School." is misleading. There are many more high school in the US with that name than just this one. This article makes it seem that this is the only school anywhere that has the name "Southside HS."
- BlueGlowGuardian, since you seem interested in keeping it, can you add a bit of school history and do a move to a new page with a more neutral name...perhaps maybe something like: Southside High School, Arkansas
- Thanks, --ScottyBoy900Q∞ 20:20, 5 September 2005 (UTC)
Scotty, all the anonymous edits were made by me, I was just unable to log in when doing so. I changed and added a lot of school information.--BlueGlowGuardian 06:07, 10 September 2005 (UTC)
- It seems like all of the statements that were controversial about the mascot have been removed, so I am going to go ahead and remove the non-neutrality tag at the top. (Cardsplayer4life 05:31, 19 December 2006 (UTC))
Athletics
[edit]Does anyone currently know a list of what all athletics southside offered (past and present)? I know they offer wrestling, tennis, and golf. I think they offer swimming, but that may just be a part of the TideRiders. Anyways, this would be good to mention under the Athletics heading since it goes straight from athletics to the football sub-header. I also think things like Quiz Bowl, Band, and Robotics could be added to the Extra Curricular Activities section. same_game_name 74.117.171.207 (talk) 06:06, 31 July 2013 (UTC)
Student Body and Other Info
[edit]I suggest we change the student body count to reflect and reference this (http://www.fortsmithschools.org/sside/AboutSouthside/StudentProfile.aspx) page as the NCES (or whatever it is) is out of date and inaccurate and that we also use it as a reference page for all AP programs offered at the school. same_game_name 74.117.171.207 (talk) 06:17, 31 July 2013 (UTC)
