Incorrect title?

[edit]

Can someone please be good enough and change the title of the article to the correct name of the legislation, ie. "South Australia Colonisation Act 1834", thanks Frances76 07:23, 25 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Simply use the move function. --cj | talk 08:14, 27 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have a source you can cite for that name change... I would be quite happy to see the article moved to that name, but if you look at the reference cited - :*Transcript of the South Australia Act, 1834, National Archives of Australia the term "South Australia Act" is used in the footnote of every page... along with "Foundation Act of 1834 (UK)". So do we leave it or change it? I say leave well enough alone. --SauliH 04:30, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Area

[edit]

a) I very sincerely doubt that the Act would have stated anything in square kilometers.
b) It seems unlikely that the area would have been such an obscure and precise number as 802,511sqkm or 309,851sqmi.
c) I can't find any mention of area in the Act.

I agree. It is surprising that this precise number has been in both South Australia Act 1834 and History of South Australia for over 13 years without question. I have rewritten that sentence in both articles. --Scott Davis Talk 11:29, 6 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
