Images
[edit]I was searching online for images about this theatre of WWI and i found this website that has images of sultans, maps, troops, and more that fall under public domain because its term of copyright has expired according to Yemeni Law as of 2012 (English translation) (details).
Here is the website: https://www.alamree.net/alboum-aden_154.htm
Here is an archived version of that I've saved today: https://web.archive.org/web/20240223184823/https://www.alamree.net/alboum-aden_154.htm
Would be nice if someone helped me upload these files to wikimedia commons
(If you dont understand arabic here's a google translate version of it: https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=ar&tl=en&hl=en&u=https://www.alamree.net/alboum-aden_154.htm&client=webapp) Abo Yemen✉ 18:53, 23 February 2024 (UTC)

- Nice find! But how do you know these are all in the public domain? I am ready to believe that the photos are (although not every old photo is). But the maps? Srnec (talk) 03:28, 25 February 2024 (UTC)
- According to copyright laws in yemen, any photo taken before + 25 years is not protected under copyright laws. see more here.
- when uploading these pics use the {{PD-Yemen}} template to upload these pics.
- for the maps, we could ask the Map workshop on wikimedia commons to create better quality, modern looking maps from these pics (we wouldn't need to upload the original maps to commons we could just link the maps) Abo Yemen✉ 07:36, 25 February 2024 (UTC)
- ill make the request Abo Yemen✉ 07:36, 25 February 2024 (UTC)
