Crime
[edit]'escape from the recent violence (South Africa has the second highest murder and rape rates in the world) that is plaguing South African society.'
I'm going to ask for a citation for the above. South Africa does have a high crime rate, but it has not been demonstrated that that is actually a 'push factor' i.e a cause of emigration from South Africa to the UK. Can anyone provide a citation to back this up? Indisciplined (talk) 19:04, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Definition of 'South African'
[edit]Seems odd that someone like Joan Collins, born in London to a British and a South African parent, raised in the UK and never (as far as I know) lived in South Africa, is listed as a South African in the UK. (The same is true of others as well mentioned in this article.) By the same logic Barack Obama is Kenyan. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.89.131.57 (talk) 08:44, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
Definition of "Ethnic Group"
[edit]White South Africans, Black South Africans and Asian South Africans et al could (within each category) come from a number of ethnic groups. 2603:6011:A600:46:F13B:6C91:18D5:5409 (talk) 16:43, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
