White Nationalism

[edit]

@2603:8080:f600:14e7:6587:e6a0:1db8:6274, in your recent edit, you say "The sources in the page do already do justify this longstanding addition to the page. Your constant removal of sourced references to white supremacy appears strange on your part...". The only mention of the party's adhere to White Nationalism is in the infobox (and the categories), there is nothing in the body of the article that says so and there isn't a source that seems to explicitly assert adherence to white nationalism by the party. Given this organisation was founded by the merger an explicitly non-racist party, it seems strange that this is not explained. Alssa1 (talk) 11:13, 22 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what you want to hear from me. Considering you have removed a bulk of sourced references to white supremacy in South Africa, and have done this after fighting tooth and nail to justify why "Racism against white people" was a valid "Ideology" addition to Economic Freedom Fighters (Instead of just black supremacy, considering the number of other ethnicities they are accused of being racist against)
Why did multiple users' removal of that need justification, but somehow keeping this as status quo, the way its been for years, now needs justifcation? It's very likely explained inside "The South African Family Encyclopaedia". Even if it's not in a short web article explicity calling them racist. 2603:8080:F600:14E7:609A:2A4D:FF05:48A6 (talk) 17:36, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know what you're talking about. There doesn't appear to be a page on "White supremacy in South Africa" (though if you wish to create one, feel free), so I'm not quite sure what you're referring to when you say "Considering you have removed a bulk of sourced references to white supremacy in South Africa". The issue on this page is that there is no specific source that says that the South African Party adhered to White Supremacy, and therefore we can't include it on the page. If you accept that there are no sources that explicitly say that, then you can't include it on the page; doing so would constitute breaking our policy on synthesis. You say that as if white supremacy in SA is some imaginary issue. I am referring to numerous pages to do with the subject. Not a singular page. I feel like you know this. 2603:8080:F600:14E7:609A:2A4D:FF05:48A6 (talk) 18:23, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The policies on Wikipedia are very clear; Wikipedia is not a forum to discuss your personal ideas/views on particular issues/subjects, the talk page environment only exists to deal with editing disputes. So back to the editing dispute, do you have an explicit source that legitimises the claim that the South African Party adhered to White Supremacy? Alssa1 (talk) 18:30, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I said it was very likely put there, for years mind you, for a reason. It's very likely explained inside "The South African Family Encyclopaedia". Perhaps we should ask the user who added it in in the first place. 2603:8080:F600:14E7:609A:2A4D:FF05:48A6 (talk) 18:36, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry but no one can go off your assurances of what is "likely". Alssa1 (talk) 18:38, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well unfortunately I can't ask an old IP address, but I have noticed around the time White Nationalism was added as an ideology the only sourced used was "Martin Meredith, Diamonds, Gold and War (New York: Public Affairs, 2007), 380-1." which makes numerous references to "Afrikaaner nationalism" in regards to the South African party.

So where does the source explicitly talk about White Nationalism? Alssa1 (talk) 19:12, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
