[edit]I'm sorry Diako, but WHAT? I wish I had invented my own brand of vodka, but it has been around since 1891 - long before I or anyone I could ever personally know was alive. It is absolutely ludicrous to claim that "the article appears to be about something that you or someone you know personally invented, coined, or discovered, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important". It's one of the most well-known and recognised brands of nalewka in Poland, for Pete's sake! This must be some kind of mistake. --Samotny Wędrowiec (talk) 16:33, 19 August 2017 (UTC)
- Look at the history of the article. Do you see my name in the history? I didn't label Soplica. I labeled Soplica.. Diako « Talk » 18:04, 19 August 2017 (UTC)
- Then why did you even notify me at my talk page? That was kinda pointless... --Samotny Wędrowiec (talk) 12:03, 21 August 2017 (UTC)
- I didn't notify you. Wikipedia did. Diako « Talk » 14:22, 21 August 2017 (UTC)
- Well, the notification was written in first person. --Samotny Wędrowiec (talk) 17:12, 21 August 2017 (UTC)
- When somebody label on an article, Wikipedia sends a notification on the talk page of the article's creator on the behalf of the user, who labeled the article and it happens sometimes that Wikipedia sends by mistake a notification on the talk page of the creator of an article with similar title. :) Diako « Talk » 17:33, 21 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Diako1971: No, Wikipedia doesn't send automated notifications to anyone who has created an article with a similar name. It was you who notified of the variant with a full stop. While I'm assuming good faith on your behalf in thinking that the notification was appropriate, please familiarise yourself with WP:CIVIL. If you make a mistake, it is courteous to apologise rather than try to make up excuses as to what happened. Thanks for your attention. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 20:27, 21 August 2017 (UTC)
- I'm tired of discussing about this. Maybe you didn't read carefully what I have written in this talk page. This is my last word and I don't continue this discussion. If I labeled Soplica, then why there is not my name in Soplica:Revision history. Diako « Talk » 20:39, 21 August 2017 (UTC)
- ... because you labelled Soplica., then informed Samotny Wędrowiec that you'd nominated Soplica for deletion. Please pay attention to what you do. Read your own message on his page carefully (I've supplied the link above). You are being combative about your own error. Time to trout yourself and apologise to SW. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 20:49, 21 August 2017 (UTC)

- (deleting admin here). What happened may have been a bit confusing. Originally, Samotny Wędrowiec had created Soplica as a redirect to Soplica (vodka). An IP then turned the redirect into an article about an invented drinking game. Diako1971 then used some Wikipedia tool (probably Page Curation) to tag that page for speedy deletion as "invented". This automatically left a message on Samotny's talk page. When I reviewed the articles tagged for deletion, I noticed that the page had originally been a redirect, and decided to delete the old revisions of Soplica and to move Soplica (vodka) to Soplica. Hope that clears up the confusion (if not, please ask me and I will try to explain more). —Kusma (t·c) 11:27, 22 August 2017 (UTC)
- As far as I know, there has never been any content at "Soplica." —Kusma (t·c) 11:28, 22 August 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you Kusma. I hope your explanation will convince Iryna Harpy that the message on the User talk:Samotny Wędrowiec was an automatic reaction of labeling Soplica. and I didn't write it myself. Diako « Talk » 12:18, 22 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Kusma: Thank you for trying to explain what happened, but would you please take a look at the the actual notification on deletion of 'an' article on Samotny Wędrowiec's talk page. The article marked for deletion is clearly Soplica (not Soplica.), and is a manual entry (no Twinkle or template by an 'automated' system was used, so it was the product of human error on behalf of Diako1971. Mistakes can happen, but trying to shift the blame and behave as if he is the hard done by party is not acceptable. If one makes a mistake, one apologises. There's no shame in making a mistake, but shifting the blame is not in the spirit of the project. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 20:00, 22 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Iryna Harpy: I am ready to take part of the blame because my actions (delete & move) turned the post on Samotny Wędrowiec's talk page into something a lot stranger than intended. Then, people accused each other, which makes many people become defensive. There is probably something to be learned from the whole thing, but it is probably best if we all move on and have fun editing articles. Now I wish I had a glass of Soplica. —Kusma (t·c) 20:13, 22 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Kusma: Yep, "Stuff happens." I find the blame game to be an exercise in creating bad blood and wouldn't normally feel as indignated, but SW and I work on a lot of Eastern European and Slavic ethnicity and history themed articles where the 'collaboration' frequently gets (erhem) a tad uncivil, leaving jumpy editors in their wake (as is evidenced by the reactions here). If you're pouring the Soplica, make mine a quadruple! --Iryna Harpy (talk) 20:40, 22 August 2017 (UTC)

- @Diako1971: I don't know which automatic tool you are using, but you are responsible for all edits you make using automatic tools (whether it is Twinkle or Page Curation or AutoWikiBrowser), even if you did not write the message yourself. You can search you contributions at Special:Contributions/Diako1971 to check whether your clicking of various boxes has created automatic messages (and if any of those messages are not your intent, you are responsible for removing them). I am confused about your continued mentioning of Soplica., which seems to never have existed. I can see that you nominated Soplica for speedy deletion using Page Curation at 14:59, 19 August 2017. When Samotny saw your message, I had already reversed the redirect. I could have avoided some of the confusion by leaving a message on their talk page, but I did not check for such messages. In any case, should I try to clarify anything else or am I still confusing everyone? —Kusma (t·c) 20:04, 22 August 2017 (UTC)
