Tags
[edit]This article has been tagged three times and yet not one word has been written on the talk page. It's been tagged as needing RS and being biased with no info on what needs fixing. I would like to improve the article but I can't read the minds of the editors that tagged the article. Some info on what needs to be done please. Gandydancer (talk) 22:43, 24 January 2017 (UTC)
- This is a BLP and it is not acceptable that a reader of Wikipedia would come to this article and find three tags, which make the article sound problematic and not accurate. It is not fair to our readers and it is not fair to the subject of the BLP. I am removing the tags asking that the editors that placed them to please take the time to explain your objections/problems with this article and then we can return them if need be. Thanks. POV writing
[edit]I think there is some POV writing on this page. I understand this was part of a Education course project, so this is understandable. However, statements like Her activism was born during a procession on the National Mall in September 2015
makes this article look like it is written like a novel or other dramatic suspense. I am going to look for other such statements later, since marginally POV statements are evident here. epicgenius (talk) 22:11, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
- Sure, I'd agree with the fact that the writing is not encyclopedic and that it needs to be rewritten. But IMO that is not the same as POV problems which suggests to our readers that the article is biased. That's not fair to Sophie. As soon as I have time I will try to do some improvements. Gandydancer (talk) 00:45, 26 January 2017 (UTC)
- I will have to make some more edits to that article as well so it can be improved. I'll start on it soon. epicgenius (talk) 15:07, 26 January 2017 (UTC)
- I could only find the one instance of serious problematic writing but even then I sure would not have tagged it with a bias warning. Keep in mind that readers of Wikipedia think that some sort of administrators add these things and they assume that they are correct in what they say. Gandydancer (talk) 15:50, 26 January 2017 (UTC)
- And BTW, if is very frustrating to have you jump in while I am doing my edits to make changes. Many editors find it more appropriate, and certainly more courteous as well, to let the other editor doing changes finish first. Gandydancer (talk) 15:55, 26 January 2017 (UTC)
