Did Sonny Thompson ‘invent’ rock’n’roll music?
[edit]The tune “Long gone,” recorded in 1947, charting in March, 1948, may be the first to feature the modified boogie woogie riff that would characterize 1950s doo wop and other examples of what was, by the 1950s, undeniably rock’n’roll. Sonny Thompson is, then, a contender for originator of rock’n’roll, via “Lone Gone,” parts 1&2. Jplotinus (talk) 15:34, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
