Unmerged
[edit]While I agree with the merger of fetal stethoscope to stethoscope I don't think this one should be merged there. The merge missed out much of the content of this article which wouldn't really fit in there, and there is still scope for expansion here. violet/riga (t) 20:03, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
I looked it up. Sonicaid is (1) a brand name and (2) an ordinary Doppler ultrasound fetal heart monitor. On both counts, this article lacks notability. --Una Smith (talk) 23:23, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
Created article
[edit]Sonicaid is the name of the company which established the "sonicaid" brand (some original sonicaid products are still to be seen in maternity hospitals, for example batteries are still available). The brand has since been owned by other companies. The word "sonicaid" is in common use to refer to handheld dopplers (the hoover or biro of obstetric ultrasound). Hence this article describes the company, the products, the brand and the word.
In creating this page I've found evidence for most of the facts but not for the RTS5200 real time scanner - this information comes from my own knowledge having worked as a service engineer for that product (I still have the paper manual). I'm not sure how to provide evidence for that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dder (talk • contribs) 07:58, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
