something for kate = sfk

[edit]

the line 'fans often shorten the name to sfk' is a bit silly. The band (or its site designers) clearly do - the abbreviation SFK is prominent at www.somethingforkate.com so I've changed it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.191.65.199 (talk) 11:23, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Band Members?

[edit]

Why does it not include that Tarek Smallman was once associated with the band?

He played drums with them at some point. Mosdefau2 (talk) 12:59, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just a Cleanup

[edit]

A great band, love them!

  • This is just a clean up of spaces and stops.
  • Format to even the top.
  • New image.

Done, first fix with no data reduction. Vufors (talk) 08:44, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have proceeded with a further clean-up, as the page was arranged in a disjointed manner and lacked an encyclopedic tone. Further work is required and I plan to return to the page soon.--Soulparadox (talk) 07:24, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I am rewriting the live performance sections, as these are not in accordance with usual Wikipedia layout.--Soulparadox (talk) 03:21, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cover songs

[edit]

The "cover songs" section needs work if it is to stay. Apart from the obvious style problem (no quotes on song names), the section doesn't explain whether these songs were covered on SFK recordings, and if so, which ones. If they are, or have been, played only at concerts, it either needs a reliable source or should be deleted as original research. The "pseudonyms" section is similarly unsourced and should be removed if it's just OR. BlackCab (talk) 03:48, 8 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

These are valid points and my intention has been to get to these sections next.--Soulparadox (talk) 09:29, 8 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think you waited long enough, but I still think your points are valid. I will recommence a verifiable section that is more concise.--Soulparadox (talk) 14:21, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
There is no notability in their cover songs. Bands routinely cover songs by other acts, often including them as B-sides on singles. There is nothing so distinctive about this that a list of those songs needs to be created in an encyclopedia article. The appropriate place to note it would be on the album articles. BlackCab (talk) 21:10, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
And that would be why this section does not appear on other pages! Thank you for yet another heads-up—I will add the sections to the respective album/EP/single pages.--Soulparadox (talk) 01:11, 19 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Further improvement possible

[edit]

I've dragged this article up to C-class. I'm having a rest from it now. Suggestions for further work, to get it up to B-class or higher:
