The result of the move request was: moved. It was shown that the pianist is widely known not just by the mononym but also by his full name, allaying concerns about WP:MIDDLENAME. Thus, the WP:NATURAL argument carries. (closed by non-admin page mover) ModernDayTrilobite (talk • contribs) 14:01, 22 June 2023 (UTC)
Solomon (pianist) → Solomon Cutner – WP:NATURAL. CLYDE TALK TO ME/STUFF DONE (please mention me on reply) 00:17, 15 June 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose per WP:COMMONNAME. If WP:NATURAL applied to names then we would use full names for disambiguation purposes. However, we do not. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:51, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
- You linked to Wikipedia:Naming_conventions_(people)#Middle_names_and_initials which says in part Adding given names, or their abbreviations, merely for disambiguation purposes (if that format of the name is not commonly used to refer to the person) is not advised (my emphasis). But this is not proposing to add a given name (nor one that is not commonly used, see below). Andrewa (talk) 05:37, 22 June 2023 (UTC)
- Support per WP:MONONYM, which implies a single name should be used for an article title only if the person can be identified unambiguously by that name. Clearly not the case here as we have a disambiguator. WPscatter t/c 02:38, 22 June 2023 (UTC)
- Support. I get more than 9,000 ghits for "Solomon Cutner" and all of the first few dozen seem relevant, so it's plenty common enough to be a natural disambiguation IMO. Andrewa (talk) 05:32, 22 June 2023 (UTC)
