Solidarity opposition movement member Mikhail Maglov has been denied refugee status in Ukraine

[edit]

He and other Russian asylum seekers say they left their country for fear of prosecution over the clashes that took place during an opposition rally on Moscow’s Bolotnaya Square on May 6, 2012; but Maglov is going to appeal against this decision of the Ukrainian migration authorities in the coming days. Per WP:NOTNEWSPAPER let's see what happens before placing the information in Wikipedia. — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 13:43, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Groaning board lead sentence

[edit]

This lead sentence is an unmitigated disaster. No sane person would wade through this to achieve a solid mental parse.

United Democratic Movement "Solidarnost"

  • (Russian:
    • Объединённое демократическое движение «Солидарность»;
    • ОДД «Солидарность»;
    • Obyedinonnoye demokraticheskoye dvizheniye «Solidarnost», ODD "Solidarnost"),
  • abbreviated ODD "Solidarnost"
    • (Russian for "Solidarity",
      • named after the Polish Solidarność),

is a Russian liberal democratic political movement

  • founded on 13 December 2008
  • by a number of well-known members
  • of the liberal democratic opposition, including
    • Garry Kasparov,
    • Boris Nemtsov and others from the
      • Yabloko and
      • Union of Right Forces
        • (which had just merged with two pro-Kremlin parties,
          • the Democratic Party of Russia
          • and Civilian Power,
        • to form the pro-Kremlin liberal democratic Right Cause) — missing comma?
    • parties,or maybe this word is extraneous?
    • leaders of the Dissenters March events,
    • the Committee 2008,
    • the People's Democratic Union,
    • the United Civil Front,
    • The Other Russia
    • and other politicians and political groups.

I'm in awe that anyone composed this monstrosity, thinking it would be suitable for an English-language encyclopedia of the common masses.

Staggered, in fact.

I'm not even going to wade in to edit this.

I'm just going to leave it alone as a monument to the Man on the Moon. — MaxEnt 01:32, 2 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
