Zao
[edit]Zao are not on Roadrunner, they are on Ferret, who uses Roadrunner to distribute oversea's. I am changing this. 24.61.84.44 17:43, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
Label Genre(s)
[edit]Right now it's "Metal/Christian hardcore". To me, this doesn't make much sense considering it should be "Christian Metal/Christian hardcore" or simply "Metal/Hardcore." And then there is also the idea that it could be considered a metalcore label. Radar123 01:34, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
Logo
[edit]For the logo, what about Here --Hellahulla 19:54, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
- Very nice. I'll work on getting it placed. --Syhususi 21:50, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
Genre descriptions for the bands
[edit]I don't think we need them on this page. Other record labels' articles don't give genre descriptions, and genres of hardcore/metal bands are controversial enough that arguments of this type are likely to just turn into an edit war. [1] I'll go ahead and remove the descriptions, unless there are any objections. --Idont Havaname (Talk) 23:45, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
External Links
[edit]In my opinion not needed: Daniel's Music, Underoathfans.net, HM mag. PhilCosby 07:51, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
Seconded. Delete the spam. -SKA-ed for Life 22:30, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Oh, Sleeper
[edit]Oh, Sleeper has signed to Solid State, check the link I provided. Just because they're not on the official website doesn't mean they're not signed to the label. Solid State is very slow in updating their site Don't delete again. AugustWinterman 15:21, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
It's not on their Myspace either. It's not that I don't like them, I loved Terminal and will likely like these guys too, but it's not verifiable yet. Am I right? PhilCosby 04:58, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- I've seen a bunch of blog entries and such about it, but no actual news. --Velvet elvis81 19:15, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
Check the Solid State website. Their profile is on there now. AugustWinterman 13:41 25 August 2007 (UTC)
Project 86
[edit]I noticed that one of the Project 86 pre-orders for the new album lists the band as Solid State. [2] Can anybody back this up or did the website just make a mistake? SKA-ed for Life 22:34, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Advent
[edit]It's rumored that Advent has signed with Solid State. I'm going to list them, but put "(rumored)" beside their name for now until it is confirmed. Considering that they are former members of Beloved, I'm going to say this is probably true. AugustWinterman 13:43 25 August 2007 (UTC)
Advent is signed to Solid State and has a record due out Feb 12, 2008 on Solid State titled 'Remove the Earth'. So don't remove Advent again. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.20.138.12 (talk) 08:57, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
Trenches
[edit]Trenches has signed to Solid State as of Nov 20, 2007. An album is in production now and will be released sometime in 2008 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.20.138.12 (talk) 09:00, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
Sorry, but until documented proof is provided, they can't be added. -- AugustWinterman 22:10, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Solidstaterecordslogo.gif
[edit]Image:Solidstaterecordslogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Living Sacrifice
[edit]Look people, just because Living Sacrifice has reformed DOES NOT mean that they have automatically resigned with Solid State. Until it is stated that they have signed with SS, do not put them on the Current Bands list. -- AugustWinterman 22:10, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Ok, they're officially added now. -- AugustWinterman 13:58, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Ok, Living Sacrifice is no longer featured on the Artist page on Solid State, but yet their MySpace still lists them under Solid State Records. I'm not really sure what this means. AugustWinterman 18:00, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
The Showdown
[edit]I did some research and The Showdown are not listed as signed on solidstate's website or their own, much like Oh, Sleeper... What sort of verification is there for this claim? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.7.149.116 (talk) 04:30, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
To Those Adding New Bands
[edit]Can you guys please add some kind of link or source when you add a band to the Current Roster? Until there is an official statement from Solid State, the band's MySpace, or another valuable source, I will be deleting them from the list. If you want the band you add to the list, please make sure that there is documented proof from a reliable source of their signing. Thank you. AugustWinterman 18:04, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
Amen.--Velvet elvis81 (talk) 18:38, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
Obituary Song
[edit]Does anyone know if perhaps Solid State Records' name is a nod to the 1994 Obituary song of the same name? Just wondering. 128.194.195.163 (talk) 04:40, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
Former Artists (Active)
[edit]It looks like all the artists, except Trenches, on the active list, have pages. Well I guess I know who's next to make. - Metalworker14
August Burns Red
[edit]Hey, SSR's website says that August Burns Red is still on their label. Metalworker14 (yo) 11:18, August 22, 2015 (UTC)
COI/UPE
[edit]@Glman: the hatnote was placed due to authorship percentage and Metalworker14's highly probable involvement in promotion activity. The exact identity can not be revealed per WP:OUTING. I, as well as another editor objected to exhaustive listing of bands you just re-restored. Please also see discussion at Wikipedia_talk:What_Wikipedia_is_not/Archive_59#WP:NOTDIRECTORY,_NOTWEBHOST_for_companies_and_bios. Please obtain consensus to restore.Graywalls (talk) 20:34, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- Per your edit summary upon the addition of the hat - "high resolution logo was uploaded by a single purpose account, and on comons, the uplaoder claims that the log is THEIR OWN WORK despite lacking VRT copyright verification. Public relations editing is suspected". glman (talk) 20:35, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- Actually, that as well. Graywalls (talk) 20:36, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- You never noted the original reasoning, could you provide more information on this? Considering there is virtually no info on this page that could be considered POV, I find the need for such a hat low. glman (talk) 20:37, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- For someone to claim the logo "as their own work" they'd have to be associated with the band, or be a public relations agent for it. If you do some search for the author with the largest proportion of work on this article, you can likely independent figure out the likely promotional activity on music labels/bands, also, a likely COI with Indie Vision Music by the editor with largest authorship percentage. Graywalls (talk) 20:36, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Glman For context, please see Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest/Noticeboard#User:Metalworker14. Also of interest is the discussion of same nature here with input from other editors Talk:SharpTone_Records Graywalls (talk) 20:45, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
