Third paragraph: "From 1980 to 1987, the show was taped...to be announced soon." --zenohockey (talk) 04:23, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That weird sentence was removed on 17 July 2008. Thanks, Azumanga1! Larry Doolittle (talk) 03:03, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Source for the countdown ranking

[edit]

I am quite certain Solid Gold did NOT use Radio & Records for its countdown. It was way off from anything that I ever saw Radio & Records or Billboard put out.

I was once told it was based on a survey of stations in California (but no other states). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.215.147.95 (talk) 01:00, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Appearance on German television

[edit]

The show was also aired on German television. On 1 January 1984, on the first day of broadcasting of the first private television in Germany. Sat.1#Sendergeschichte[de] This station broadcasted the show until 1985. From 1985-1986 the Second German Television (ZDF) broadcasted the programme. https://www.wunschliste.de/serie/solid-gold/tv 87.148.139.138 (talk) 23:10, 10 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hosts

[edit]

I watched Solid Gold late into its run and Arsenio Hall was not part of the show during the 1987-88 season. Terehend72 (talk) 07:10, 15 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

IMDb lists Arsenio Hall as appearing as "self" on three Solid Gold episodes, 1986-1988. Doesn't sound like a host, but also not "not part of the show". Maybe someone with better search skillz than me can figure out who the actual host was for the 1987-88 season. Larry Doolittle (talk) 03:16, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
