Use in Congo
[edit]I deleted the part about the use in Congo. Zaire never used the Galeb, the aircraft in question was a double seat Jastreb (clearly visible on photos) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fabe27 (talk • contribs) 12:48, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
J-1 Jastreb page
[edit]Did there not use to be a SOKO J-1 Jastreb page on wikipedia?
Name
[edit]Could somone rename this page to SOKO G-2 Galeb, like there are Soko G-4 Super Galeb and Soko J-21 Jastreb?
- Done! Moved per the Updated WP:AIR/NC guideliens, which now allow/recommend using the Manufacturer-designation-name format on all aircraft articles with both designations and names. - BilCat (talk) 22:21, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
Libya sentence
[edit]It may be a bit premature to state the intent of the G2. The G2s are used for training and were probably not armed with anything. Has it even been ruled out that it could have been under Rebel control? Source please? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.37.85.3 (talk) 16:01, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
Also, Libyan Galeb was not shot down but was destroyed while on the ground, by air-surface missile. --94.140.88.117 (talk) 17:48, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
How can the "Free Libya air force" have 4 G-2 at Misurata airport and then news comes in of a Libyan Airforce plane landing there and getting destroyed by the French? Is Misurata airport under rebel control or not? I think that was a rebel G-2 being destroyed. The G-2 is NOT in Libyan active service. They would not bother to send a plane from some other location to land at Misurata for no apparent reason in direct violation of the no fly zone. The rebels probably took off to support their actions near Misurata. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mageroski (talk • contribs) 22:20, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

Soko G-2 Galeb → Soko G2 Galeb – previous move was in error VERY reliable sources (includiing Taylor, John W.R., ed. (1983). Jane's all the World's Aircraft 1982–83 (73rd ed.). London: Jane's Publishing Company. pp. 488–489. ISBN 978-0-7106-0748-5.) and manufacturer use G2 and G2-A without a hyphen between G and 2 (paradoxically the export version designation was G-2A-E) Petebutt (talk) 12:46, 20 October 2019 (UTC) —Relisting. - Question - Do we know why this is the G2 and the Super Galeb is "G-4" one would expect them to be the same format ? MilborneOne (talk) 17:00, 24 October 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose for now as nobody has been able to answer my question, unlikely that they would be different formats. MilborneOne (talk) 22:09, 31 October 2019 (UTC)
