SMU vs. social unionism
[edit]"Social unionism" currently redirects here; I wonder if it shouldn't be the other way around? "Social Movement Unionism" seems to be a currently popular term, but "social unionism" is really an old concept, dating back to the Congress of Industrial Organizations and earlier. I also feel that lowercase terms are better if the article wants to be inclusive of a broad phenomenon. Should we move this page to "Social unionism"? groupuscule (talk) 05:50, 20 October 2012 (UTC)
Also: collective bargaining
[edit]One of the major examples in the article right now is the inclusion of "social justice" demands within the collective bargaining process. This is great and worthy of inclusion, but in my understanding of "social unionism" the collective bargaining process is just one tactic among many. Is this also true of "Social Movement Unionism"? Thanks, groupuscule (talk) 06:20, 20 October 2012 (UTC)
