QUE BOT ERES
[edit]MADRE MIA QUE BOT ERES; QUE VERGÜENZA.In common usage, I would actually take "the people and institutions with whom the person interacts" as the definition of this term. I would also add "traditions", "ideas" and perhaps "social artifacts" - recorded information seems like it should count as one aspect of social environment.
In sociology, it is often interesting to examine a particular subset of society, such as a group of local artists, or an educational institution, or a business group. This might be a term of art to describe that subset, but I more commonly see "milieu" used in that sense. That term redirects here, but is not explained in the article.
I'd really like to see some authoritative sources definiting these terms; I have a feeling there are probably multiple overlapping definitions.

JAJAJAJAMÓN
[edit]Hello! I would like to contribute to this page. I think that there are many connections between psychological development and social environment, and I would like to cite some of them on this page. I was inspired to do so by its presence as a link in other Wikipedia pages devoted to the topic of human psychological development. I think this stub could become a very important part of Wikipedia. What do you think? May I make some contributions? Thanks!

Valid Topic
[edit]Hey Team, actually as I begin to think more about this page, I am wondering - is Social Environment a valid topic? Does it help us understand the phenomena of Socialization and Identity Formation? Does it acknowledge and comment on recent important and groundbreaking innovations in theories of oppression or human development? I think something like Social Location would be a more robust version of this article's topic. Social Location would acknowledge the synthesis of culture and individual, while also incorporating the fluidity of identity and the effects of internalized, systemic, and sublimated oppression. I fear currently that Social Environment is not a substantiated or credible phenomenon - it is only part of the story. Hopefully someone from a larger article will check this link and find the discussion? I'll post this idea on the Developmental Psychology page also. Thanks!

[edit]I do not feel qualified to make the edits myself, but I hope someone, someday, will add Hippolyte Taine to this article, with his concept of Man, Milieu, Moment. 2605:8D80:5C0:E818:A5AC:7268:CB1F:CA2B (talk) 22:33, 14 April 2022 (UTC)
