Questioning The Redirect to this page.

[edit]

Why should the term0 "social construct" not isntead redirect to Social constructivism? FatalSubjectivities (talk) 12:52, 18 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have created a separate article on this topic, since the mainstream and uncontroversial concept of social construct needs to be distinguished from the sociological theory that has garnered so much controversy. Generalrelative (talk) 23:10, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Opening definition unclear

[edit]

"A social construct is any category or thing that is made real by convention or collective agreement". In this opening definition, the meaning of the idiomatic phrase "made real" ('to make real') is not clear. I would suggest to remove this idiomatic phrase and user plainer English in the definition, to provide greater clarity on the concept. 120.88.155.223 (talk) 16:26, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
