Should this be removed?

It seems to me like this topic is not important enough to be in wikipedia. At least from the content in the article and their website, it seems like a small dance company. There are many dance groups, and they don't all need their own wikipedia articles. Thoughts? Bbejot (talk) 00:06, 12 July 2018 (UTC)

On the one hand (per WP:NORG):

When evaluating the notability of organizations or products, please consider whether they have had any significant or demonstrable effects on culture, society, entertainment, athletics, economies, history, literature, science, or education. Large organizations and their products are likely to have more readily available verifiable information from reliable sources that provide evidence of notability. However, smaller organizations and their products can be notable, just as individuals can be notable. Arbitrary standards should not be used to create a bias favoring larger organizations or their products, though articles about very small "garage" or local companies are typically unacceptable per WP:NOTADVERTISING.

Editors should recognize certain biases, such as recentism (greater availability of recent sources) when assessing historical companies or systemic bias (greater availability of English and Western sources) when discussing organizations in the developing world. Therefore, for example, a Bangladeshi women's rights organization from the 1960s might establish notability with just one or two quality sources, while the same is not true for a tech start-up in a major U.S. metropolitan area.

On the other hand:

The source's audience must also be considered. Evidence of significant coverage by international or national, or at least regional, media is a strong indication of notability. On the other hand, attention solely from local media, or media of limited interest and circulation, is not an indication of notability; at least one regional, statewide, provincial, national, or international source is necessary.

In consideration:

The notability of this dance group derives from its importance in preserving and sharing American Indian culture throughout Southern California and San Diego. And in this sense, as shown by several articles covering its events and awards and media, it is having a demonstrable effect on culture and society. Second, indigenous cultures fall under areas of systemic bias where there should be more sensitivity to less availability of sources due to historical and present marginalization.

As for demonstrating at least a regional audience, I think it's arguable that 'San Diego', and moreso Southern California, is a sufficiently large region and that the sources from state-wide Indian educational and program resources show relevance to indigenous preservation and culture throughout California. It's also worth remembering that what constitutes the relevant 'region' for a tribe is the land they have historically and presently occupy. In that sense, Southern California is not just a 'region', it's the explicit territory of a group (or groups) of indigenous peoples.
