I have hard of a system used in New York that melts snow in big volyms, i´d like to know more about this. Is there enybody out there that can help me!!!

There are many snow melt systems on the market. The thing that really matters with how effective it is at melting the snow is how many BTU's(heat) it produces. Systems should be designed for each region differently and according the ASHRAE standards plus the application(residential, commercial etc) as well as taking into consideration the expectations of the snow melting system. Expectations in terms of, how fast you want it to melt and if it is ok to have some accumulation during a bad storm and letting it take a little longer to melt etc. Power requirements and fuel usage should be taken into consideration when deciding how you want it to perform and what you can live with. Snow in New York will take more BTU's to melt compared to drier snow found the the Rocky Mountains. --Ryan Bench (talk) 16:46, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
