Notability
[edit]- is this person notable? one album artists aren't.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.232.212.195 (talk) 18:17, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- I'm inclined to agree, I came here expecting the guy who did "Informer". --TheTruthiness (talk) 02:21, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
- I feel that having a few singles, and having contributed theme songs to television programs would be enough to satisfy the need for notability.Imatoki (talk) 07:06, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
Requested move
[edit]- The following discussion is an archived discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the proposal was move to Snow (Japanese singer) with no prejudice for any future move to Yukie if said singer becomes better known by that name. JPG-GR (talk) 01:26, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
- The Canadian singer Snow, currently under Snow (musician), should have the Snow (singer) redirect to him. They're both singers, and the guy who did the worldwide hit "Informer" is certainly more notable than a J-Pop singer with one album 99.9% of people on English Wikipedia probably have never heard of. Move this article to Snow (Japanese singer) or Snow (Japanese musician), whatever the WP standard is. --TheTruthiness (talk) 02:21, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
- Semi-Oppose Build a dab, or redirect to the snow dab page instead. Rename Snow (musician) to Snow (Canadian singer) ; rename this page to Snow (Japanese singer) ; redirect Snow (musician) to the dab page, or build a dab page there. 70.51.10.188 (talk) 03:49, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
- Weak support. I support the original proposal. But people are going to arrive through the disambig page anyway, so it is not a big deal. 87.113.0.61 (talk) 08:11, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
- Support with modifications Snow (singer) should point to Snow (disambiguation) (or be its own dab, but that's overkill IMO); relative popularity is only an issue for choosing a primary article, not for choice of disambiguating phrase (see WP:NCDAB, WP:NCP#Qualifier between bracketing parentheses). Snow (musician) is fine where it is - he is a singer-songwriter, so musician is an appropriate qualifier. I also note the Japanese Snow is to be known as Yukie from now on, so this should go away one way or the other. --Rogerb67 (talk) 01:40, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
- Support with modifications as proposed by Rogerb67. Definite problem, as most people looking for a singer called Snow will be looking for the Canadian; Good analysis and solution by Rogerb67. Andrewa (talk) 10:34, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
Guys, this page should just be at SNoW. ¦ Reisio (talk) 04:22, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
- Not a good idea at all. See Wikipedia:Naming conventions (precision)#Minor spelling variations and Wikipedia:Manual of Style (trademarks). Andrewa (talk) 10:34, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
- The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
