Proposed merge of Raakilipattu into Snegithiye

[edit]

It is the same film shot simultaneously, pointless to have two separate articles. Gotitbro (talk) 22:47, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

What's odd is that the Malayalam version released 7 years later whereas if it was released simultaneously it would be a no brainer. Also, the sources on the Malayalam version suck to say the least. @Gotitbro: DareshMohan (talk) 05:38, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose It was decided to keep two separate articles as per previous merge discussion. No new change happened to change the decision.

Please link the previous discussion so that I can find it. @Anish Viswa:. :@Kailash29792: Do you know where the previous discussion is? DareshMohan (talk) 15:32, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have no idea even such a discussion took place. If this is a situation similar to Subhavaartha where one version is poorly sourced and the other isn't, better to merge. Kailash29792 (talk) 15:07, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I did a merge that was undone by Anish. [1] @Kailash29792: DareshMohan (talk) 02:47, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Individual members shall not do merge while a 'Merge discussion' is active. Wiki admin will decide on Merge/No-merge once the discussion is completed and then do a merge if decision is in favour of it.

FYI, any uninvolved experienced editor can close the merge discussion. Admin is not necessary. — Ab207 (talk) 15:37, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Hamwal: The sources listed on Raakalilipattu are all unreliable. See Indiaglitz at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Film/Indian_cinema_task_force#Guidelines_on_sources. This discussion is stale and Anishviswa mentioned a previous merge discussion that nobody can find. Can't find a single reliable source or review that is not a passing mention. DareshMohan (talk) 23:41, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@DareshMohan:, Merge the article Raakalilipattu to Snegithiye. Hamwal (talk) 02:49, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Merge as proposed. There is no need to maintain two articles when they have similar content. — Ab207 (talk) 15:36, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Where is the previous discussion?

[edit]

@Gotitbro: @Kailash29792: @Hamwal: I feel User:Anishviswa has some bias since he states that he is a Malayali on his user page. "It was decided to keep two separate articles as per previous merge discussion. No new change happened to change the decision". @Anishviswa: can you please link the previous discussion, I wasn't there when it happened?

I don't think this counts as a discussion [2] [3]. DareshMohan (talk) 03:19, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This could become an RfC if you want. Kailash29792 (talk) 03:25, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@DareshMohan:, Try to find out strong references regarding the Malayalam version of Snegithiye, if not found then merge the Malayalam film article to Snegithiye. Hamwal (talk) 03:57, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't find any. @Hamwal: Sadly AnishViswa has some amount of control in this matter [4].
@Kailash29792: Clearly states not to use RfC, and myself aren't familiar with RfC. Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment#What_not_to_use_the_RfC_process_for DareshMohan (talk) 07:35, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Support The films are essentially the same but with different names. At the time of their release, some Malayalam news channels criticised the dubbing but praised the songs. However, this information is old, and data on it is not readily available now.Anoop Bhatia (talk) 06:30, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
