Okay, guys, this is getting silly. Please discuss your differences here on the talk page instead of reverting each other. If you keep it up, I'll have to protect the page. - Eureka Lott 21:37, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Need a page for the modern meaning of Snark?

[edit]

Recently I've been coming across the term Snark a lot, this guy Denby even wrote a book on the subject. All kinds of critics say that Denby misunderstood what Snark actually is. So I go to wikipedia for clarification: but there is no article on Snark. I think Snark is notable enough to warrant a wikipedia article. If I had a clue what Snark was, I'd start it myself.--198.129.67.74 (talk) 23:37, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Snide Remark

[edit]

Can someone tell me why snark being a contraction of snide remark was removed? I was going to add it, but checked the history, and saw that it was added, then removed by another user. That was the definition I was looking for on Wikipedia. lenny (talk) 01:25, 4 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not a dictionary, it is an encyclopedia. This page in particular is a disamb page. Its sole purpose is to link to existing articles you might be looking for. The information you were looking for can be found by clicking the link to the Wikitionary page at the top. (Incidentally, the etymology at Wikitionary seems to indicate "Snark" is not a contraction of "snide remark".) - SummerPhD (talk) 04:01, 4 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
