Note on importance
[edit]Importance stems from species beauty and rarity. Also of note is the trend of protection which has affected many land use decisions and protection areas. It is also in occurrence in a noteworthy and heavily visited part of California along the coastal dunes around big sur and monterey. Finally it is associated with a rare forest occurrence of Maritime Coast Range Ponderosa Pine forests. Busybanker 05:00, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
