Uh, 'codenamed "Second Desk"'?
Haven't seen the series, but have read the source novels. In https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slow_Horses#Main, surely it's more a matter of the Deputy Director-General being designated 'Second Desk'? Roddy? Hacktivist?
It's not clear to me at all why Roddy is described as a hacktavist. Sure he's an IT pro with rare skills, and also a massive jerk. What computer good works did he do that he could be described as a hacktavist? There's basically zero of that in the books.
