Suggested Merge
[edit]Protected slot limit seems to be about exactly the same thing (I found both whilst attempting to de-orphan), think it needs someone who understands the subject to merge the info and re-direct one to the other. -Hunting dog (talk) 16:54, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
Fish categorized as within a slot (eg 10-16cm) may be fished more or less than those outside the slot, alternatively absolute exclusions can apply to either category, seasonally or permanently. In addition fish smaller than those in the slot may be a separate third category to fish larger than the slot. Also I agree with hunting dog. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.95.111.237 (talk) 02:43, 17 January 2014 (UTC)
Reconsider Challenges section
[edit]Lake Millie Lacs walleye have been struggling due to changing lake conditions (increase in water clarity) for the last few decades. Considering the success of slot limits in other habitats, I think it's appropriate to find a better example. One of the challenges in setting slot limits is learning enough about the species to determine an optimal slot, another is enforcing complicated slotting regulations. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.167.184.66 (talk) 16:06, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
