Claims that Macho man died the same day the plant closed

[edit]

here is a local news article that supports the claim — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jonathonball (talkcontribs) 12:57, 16 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

While that is a good anecdote, is that really needed on this page? 86.16.179.104 (talk) 00:41, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Shelf Life Question

[edit]

I have searched the internet to find out what the actual shelf life of a Slim Jim snack might be. The Slim Jim in my possession has an expiration day of May 2009. How long ago would this item have been manufactured? Anyone know how far they set out the expiration date on these guys? --Gebl Gebl Gebl (talk) 14:33, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The expiration date on a Slim Jim snack from a recently purchased box is November 2009. I would guess that the expiration date is probably a year from the date of manufacture. AtxApril (talk) 21:08, 29 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

inanity

[edit]

What the hell is with the "Hair" entry in the flavors section? Looks like vandalism. If someone can give a source that mentions a "Hair Slim Jim", you can revert it. Otherwise, stop with the ****ing vandalism. 68.217.39.175 00:59, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Advertising

[edit]

This article is blatant advertising. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.217.240.28 (talk) 22:09, 4 November 2007 (UTC) No it's not. It has news-worthiness to it due to recent events. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.75.205.72 (talk) 20:58, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Snapalope

[edit]

Actually, for those who are curious (and for accuracy's sake, if I receve no comments, I will edit it myself) the 'snapalopes' are not 'computer generated'. In fact, they are more like puppet, with actors controlling the limbs against a green screen background while wearing similar colored garments. This footage was later edited to sync properly with the live action shots. 143.206.208.46 22:21, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Snack Food?

[edit]

This article seems to mention every wrestler that ever advertised for slim jim yet fails to describe it as anything more than a snack food that contains mechanicaly separated chicken. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Weetoddid (talkcontribs) 18:54, 9 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

History

[edit]

The History section is confusing. It sounds like Adolph Levis sold the Slim Jim brand to General Mills who merged the Slim Jim brand into an operating unit(?)/brand(?) called "Goodmark", which was then sold to an unnamed group led by Ron Dogget.

Who sold "Goodmark"? The sentence says "He", which could only refer to Levis, but wouldn't he have been out of the picture after the sale to General Mills? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.202.33.17 (talk) 05:52, 29 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Slogan

I believe the slogan was "slam into a slim jim". The Mo-Ja'al (talk) 18:29, 15 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Twitter shenanigans

[edit]

I have no idea if there are any notable sources, but Slim Jim's twitter account posts that they will follow people back if they interact with the tweet (i.e retweeting or liking). I may be saying this because they followed me back, but I think it's pretty interesting.

Also I think that the Cinnabon stuff should also be mentioned. Basically Slim Jim's and Cinnabon's twitter accounts are pretending to be in love... It's really absurd but I think it is worth mentioning. Ocemccool (talk) 16:51, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Jack Comella

[edit]

Is the reference to Jack Comella (hiding a link to another name) correct, or is it a joke or vandalism? Timothy Cooper (talk) 16:21, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
